ALX Dog Walk 2022

The inaugural 2-mile ALX Dog Walk along the breathtaking Waterfront Walk in historic Old Town Alexandria will be held on April 2nd! Walkers and their pooches (or without a pooch!) follow the Waterfront Walk in Oronoco Bay Park in Old Town, head toward the Robinson Landing Pier, where they will parade by a judging panel for fun prizes, and then return to the Park for an Awards Celebration hosted by Monte Durham, "Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta", and music, hundreds of dogs, treats and more.

New Public Art Installation Coming to Alexandria Waterfront

The City of Alexandria unveiled its newest public art installation, “I Love You,” in Alexandria’s Waterfront Park (1 Prince St.) on March 25. This new temporary installation by Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt of R&R STUDIOS is the fourth in the “Site See: New Views in Old Town” annual public art series. R&R STUDIOS was selected to create this site-specific artwork by a community task force with approval from the Alexandria Commission for the Arts. The installation will be on display through November 2022, and accessible from 5AM – 10PM daily.

African American Heritage Park Construction Staging Area

The African American Heritage Park is currently closed due to Hooffs Run Interceptor construction. Work began at the Hooffs run site the week of February 28 with crews mobilizing to the African American Heritage Park Construction Staging Area.. Initial activity included establishment of a fence around the site, mobilization of equipment, and site preparation.
