Lake Cook Pocket Park

The Eisenhower Valley Parks Collaborative received a Community Matching Funds grant from the City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) in November 2022. These funds will be used to implement several recommendations for the Lake Cook Pocket Park identified in the Pocket Parks Improvement Plan 2020. These recommendations are detailed in the Lake Cook Pocket Park section which include management of invasive species, replanting native trees, and installation of signage for placemaking and rules.

This is a community-driven initiative and we'd love to get your help! They've met their matching goal but are continuing with fundraising and volunteer registration to make this project a success. Volunteers will work with guidance from City staff over the weekend of November 4th & 5th 2023 to plant trees, clearing brush and perform general cleanup of the park area. Efforts will be prioritized based on volunteers' abilities and overall turnout.

Please sign up to help gauge support and interest for this project. You'll be contacted via email address to keep you posted as the important milestones are achieved and the project schedule is defined.
