2019 PARK(ing) Day Carlyle 'Parklets'

The Carlyle Council created our first ever Park(ing) Day ‘Parklet’ in front of Sweet Fire Donna’s. We had over 250 patrons visit our parklet and check out our reclaimed parking spaces. Park(ing) Day is an annual event that takes place the third Friday in September, to help spread awareness about other options of transportation besides single occupancy vehicles. Check out our 'parklet' photo album on our Facebook page.

Alexandria Renew was onsite to help set up for the day and to hand out  giveaways to educate those who were interested in saving water. Hord Coplan Macht an integrated firm offering planning, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and environmental graphic design, joined us as well. Thank you so much for your help Alexandria Renew and Hord Coplan Macht, we couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re looking forward to even more community involvement next year - including a fun competition between all of the businesses and residential buildings in Carlyle.
