Fireworks Use Illegal

Across Virginia, state code prohibits use of fireworks that "explode, travel laterally, rise into the air, or fire projectiles into the air," except for use by licensed contractors. While certain types of fireworks are allowed to be sold in neighboring Arlington and Fairfax counties, fireworks cannot be kept, sold or used in the City of Alexandria. That includes sparklers, novelty items or other fireworks.
