Bus Loop Service Begins June 6
DASH and Metrobus will start serving the new bays in the bus loop near the station entrance on June 6, 2021, and their temporary bus shelters will be closed. Each new bus bay and the station entrance kiosk will feature new digital screens providing real-time arrival information. New crosswalks and redesigned station lighting have been installed to improve pedestrian visibility.
Transit riders are encouraged to identify the location of their new bus bay assignment prior to June 6. A flier with the station map and bus route assignments is posted above and can be downloaded for future reference. Members of the City’s GoAlex staff will also be on-site to assist with locating new bus bay assignments and to answer questions. Staff are required to wear face masks and observe current social distancing regulations.
New bus route testing will begin on Monday, May 24, 2021, and run through June 5. The City encourages the public to exercise caution and be observant of new bus activity in and around the station. Please follow all markings and posted signs, and use available crosswalks.
MetroAccess will continue to serve riders from the temporary Cameron Street bus stop. Following installation of the three remaining bus bays, DASH, Metrobus, and MetroAccess service will be assigned permanent bus bay locations.
Access to the station from the Diagonal Road mid-block crosswalk will be closed to facilitate construction of the new Kiss & Ride area through Summer 2021. Kiss & Ride customers should continue to use the Braddock Rd or Eisenhower Ave Metrorail stations.
