BRENCORE Entertainment Presents “A Tribute to the Music of George Duke, Joe Sample and more featuring National Recording Artist Jazz Pianist Kevin Howard at the Carlyle Club. Honoring two legends such as George Duke and Joe Sample is no easy feat but Kevin Howard is the perfect keyboardist to pay respect to these great artists. Kevin will bring their hits such as George Dukes “Dukey Stick”, “Movin On”, ”Sweet Baby” ”Lovin Can Be So Cold” and Joe Samples “Night Flight” “Street Life” “Spell Bound” “Melodies of Love” and more.


Kevin Howard is a world class keyboardist, writer, composer, producer, and businessman. Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Kevin is President and CEO of Key Chapter Entertainment a company which includes full service recording and production.

Kevin has received several awards which include three “Best Jazz Performer Awards” from renowned local urban radio station WAMO; the WQED Harry Schwab Excellence in the arts award; Best Jazz Performer Champions Association; Pittsburgh City Paper “top three

jazz performers”. Kevin, along with his band served as the Pittsburgh?s WJJJ Smooth Jazz Band for more than two years, performing at various events sponsored by the radio station.

Kevin recently toured with and was the musical director for jazz saxophone legend Ronnie Laws, also recorded and performed with saxophonist Marion Meadows, Jonathan Butler, Norman Connors, Lonnie Liston Smith, Najee, and George Benson. In addition has shared the stage with Roy Ayers, Pieces of a dream, Joe McBride and John Legend.

Kevin also headlined concerts in Parkersburg, WV Jazz on the Green and Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-culture Festival, Jazz under the Stars Harrisburg PA, International Festival Baltimore MD., National Urban League Convention, and several venues nationwide.

Kevin has three CD?s “Random Groove”, “Collage”, and “Special Edition” which includes special guest saxophonist Marion Meadows and guitarist Rohn Lawrence. Kevin’s fourth CD titled “Travels” will be available September 1st 2015 for digital download and physical version September 14th 2015.

The Alexandria African American Hall of Fame Presents A Brazilian Celebration Featuring Marcos Ariel

Bossa Novais today one of the best-known Brazilian music genres abroad. The phrase bossa nova literally means “new trend” or “new wave.”  A lyrical fusion of samba and jazz.

Marcos Ariel became known as a great interpreter and deep connoisseur of music. Mixing bossa nova with jazz and blues, he presents a show with lots of energy and harmony.

One of the most striking characteristics of singer and pianist Marcos Ariel is his power to interact with the audience, telling stories and curiosities about the repertoire of the show.

Marcos Arielis in the forefront of contemporary Brazilian music.  His musical style is purely “Carioca” (one who is a native of Rio de Janeiro) splashed with a passion for classical and jazz.  His enthusiasm as a pianist, singer and composer is inspiring. As a musician, he is swift and precise, transcending genuine warmth that can only be Marcos Ariel.

For this Carlyle Club performance, Marcos Ariel will be joined by fellow, talented musicians who share his love for Brazilian music, and bossa nova in particular.

The Washington-based jazz ensemble Collaboration, has performed for the Inauguration Galas of both President Bill Clinton (1997) and President Barack Obama (2008); and over the years have shared the stage with many nationally-known recording artists such as Patty LaBelle and the great Stanley Turrentine.

Vocals will feature Washington, D.C.-native Lori Williams who seamlessly moves from Jazz to R&B in ways the listener can feel at home with her in either genre.  Possessing an impressive resume as a performing artist, educator, songwriter, producer, support vocalist as well as musical theater actress, her reputation and level of respect are top shelf and unimpeachable.  Lori Williamshas been featured with artists such as Gospel’s Yolanda Adams and Walter Hawkins; R&B’s Howard Hewett, Will Downing and Phil Perry; Contemporary Jazz’s Stanley Jordan, Nathan East, Norman Brown and Tom Browne; Traditional Jazz’s Slide Hampton, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Winard Harper; super producer/composer/singer Angela Winbush; and Tap Dance sensation, Savion Glover.

Jeffrey Osborne served as the lead singer for L.T.D. for many years before embarking on his solo career.

L.T.D. (which stands for Love, Togetherness, and Devotion) was formed in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1968. L.T.D. is an American R&B/funk band best known for their 1977 hit single, ” Back in Love Again” and “Holding On”, as well as their many ballads, such as “Love Ballad”, “We Both Deserve Each Other’s Love”, and “Where Did We Go Wrong. The BRENCORE ALLSTARS Band is known to produce several great Tributes to artists and bands over the years and this tribute will take you back to the days of the sweet love ballads of L.T.D.

This event will be a true Grateful Dead concert experience, that will include: the best local Grateful Dead bands, a stage with state of the art sound & lighting, a merchandise stand, a full bar, satellite bars, plenty of room for dancing, an outside smoking lounge, an amazing buffet, and of course, amazing vibes!

This special Dead show re-creation will feature the music of Jerry Garcia and Grateful Dead as performed by two of the area’s hottest bands within the Dead and Jam Band Scene, On the Bus and Free Flowing Musical Experience (3 sets).

On the Bus is the longest-running premier Grateful Dead tribute band in the Washington DC area, and is known for its faithful recreation of the music, vibe and experience of a Grateful Dead show. On The Bus is not just a tribute to the Dead, but to the entire community that spawned a multi-generational genre that artfully blends the essential elements of rock, blues, jazz, funk, country, bluegrass, and gospel.

Free Flowing Musical Experience, Alexandria’s Legendary Acoustic Jam Band, aims to capture the diversity of their musical influences and expand upon each song as an improvisational journey into what can be found on the other end. FFME’s unique acoustic take on the Dead/Jam Band genre will impress even the most hardened Dead loyalists and continues to attract an ever increasing fan base.
