Bike over to the Carlyle Pit Stop for Bike to Work Day (BTWD) set for Friday morning, May 18th 6:30 – 8:30 am at John Carlyle Square Park.  Registration is free and  early registrants will receive the 2018 BTWD t-shirt and be entered in a regional raffle for new bicycles. Carlyle Council hosts this popular community event that is part of a regional event co-organized by Commuter Connections and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) to encourage cycling as a healthy, green commuting option that reduces car emissions, and has a positive impact on the environment.   Registered cyclists at Carlyle’s Pit Stop will receive free snacks and beverages from Panera, Potbelly and Whole Foods, be entered in Carlyle’s nonstop raffle of prizes, musical entertainment, free bike maintenance advice, giveaways and much, much more. The Washington Post writes “Greg Lamont’s repetoire of jazz and American standards transforms any evening…and the music is intoxicating”. As a skilled jazz pianist and electrifying organist, he has performed and recorded with numerous artists. His audiences range from small intimate night club settings to concert appearances before thousands. In a cocktail lounge, piano bar, supper club, private party or reception, the entertainment is a thrilling experience as a solo performer, heading a duo, or with his popular trio. On Behalf of the Carlyle Club: A Tribute to the Music of Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding

A native of Middleburg, VA, Fox has performed all over the country and is lead vocalist in a number of ensembles. Among Fox’s most memorable performances was at the Official 2013 Presidential Inauguration where her performed President Obama and at the wedding reception for NBA great Michael Jordan. One of the hardest working and busiest performers in the DMV, Fox is know not just for his unique sound but his signature “squal” which advanced him to the Executive Producer level in auditioning for The Voice in 2015.

As with many entertainers who discovered their talents in the church, BRYAN FOX is no different, as church is where he found his musical gift. Fox has been singing since the age of 13, along side his mentor and biggest fan, his late father.

A native of Middleburg, VA, Fox has performed all over the country and is lead vocalist in a number of ensembles. Among Fox’s most memorable performances was at the Official 2013 Presidential Inauguration where her performed President Obama and at the wedding reception for NBA great Michael Jordan. Robert T is bringing is soul powerhouse trio to The Carlyle Club for the first time! This amazing and award winning trio consists of Robert T, Shawn Allen, and Sonja.

Robert T began performing at the age of 7 in backyard talent shows with singing groups madeup of neighborhood friends along with his older brother. Born in the “Show Me State” of St. Louis, Mo., he began singing and performing at a very early age. Soon, he and his brother began to play the guitar, piano/organ and drums. By 1966, the family moved to Akron, Ohio where they continued their musical journey with new friends. After performing in more singing groups, Robert T and his friends began to form their own band called The Bro-hams. Soon, he became the driving force for several other bands, one notably, Robert T & The Midnight Movers.

Robert T recorded, wrote and co-wrote many songs for many bands & groups in the past, such as “Harrowing Man” with Conga Jihad Band, “I Like Them All” for

The Howard St. Blues Band, and a song from the 911 attack on America, “Who Will Rule Iraq” followed by a campaigne song for President Barrack Obama, titled “Obama’s Got The Power” (Oama Is The Best), which sold well from the trunk of his car, and can be heard on YouTube.

As AMERICA’S NO. 1 JAMES BROWN TRIBUTE SHOW & REVUE, Robert T… The Real Soul Pleaser & his band, Papa’s New Bag, featuring his top notch horn section, The PNB Horns, are now sharing the stage with many R&B legends, such as Gene Chandler, Kim Weston, Russell Thompkins of The Stylistics, Chubby Checker, and many more…

Hard-driving blues rhythms and soul grooves fuel the blistering performance of DC-based soul blues band Vintage#18. After attending a performance, John Porter, NPR declares, “Vintage#18 is a band you have to see live in order to appreciate their level of performance.” According to The Alternate Root, “Robbin Kapsalis delivers vocals that slink through a smoky haze of Soul”.

Performing together since 2013, the band sharpened their sound and performance chops in clubs throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. They soon found themselves sharing stages with The Nighthawks, Billy Price, Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials, Albert Cummings, Selwyn Birchwood, Coco Montoya, and Roomful of Blues. The album features the unique sound of Bill Holter on guitar (a.k.a. #18), while the groove is laid down by Alex Kuldell on drums and Mark Chandler on bass. Soulful vocals are delivered by newcomer and bandleader Robbin Kapsalis.

Blues In the South hit it on the head…” Although this outfit is undoubtedly a blues band, they have a distinctively individual sound.”

The highlight of the evening is special guest, multi-instrumentalist, composer, vocalist and recording artist, Heather Haze, delighting audiences with a passionate flair and musical exuberance rarely encountered. She has performed on stage with legends such as Little Feat and George Clinton, not to mention hundreds of other talented bands and artists from coast to coast. Her original music was nominated for the Hollywood Music in Media awards in 2009 and 2010, and received honorable mention in the 2010 Songwars International Songwriting Competition.

Heather is saxophonist, keyboardist and vocalist with DC’s award-winning all-female party band, Wicked Jezebel.
