Alexandria’s Holiday Market Announces Inaugural Festival in Carlyle
Carlyle Council is pleased to announce that John Carlyle Square Park will be the location for the inaugural Alexandria’s Holiday Market debuting this December. Alexandria’s Holiday Market will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 5th through December 21st, with additional weekday dates during the week of Christmas. The market is a partnership with SandB Event Management LLC, the City of Alexandria and Carlyle Council.
The highly anticipated festival is modeled after Europe’s festive Christmas markets which are popular in countries across the pond like Germany and France. Traditionally the markets would transform outdoor town centers where vendors would take up shop in small wooden stalls. Similarly, Alexandria’s Holiday Festival will encourage shoppers to “shop outside the box” and come outdoors to the festival to find unique art and craft items, enjoy traditional foods, sweets, beer and mulled wine. To help get into the holiday spirit, shoppers will also be treated to live entertainment from local musicians. Alexandria’s Holiday Market will cater to the whole family and feature a special children’s corner with special kid’s activities and the opportunity to learn about European traditions and culture through a scavenger hunt.
Interested in Participating? Alexandria’s Holiday Market is now accepting applications for vendors. Slots are available for arts and craft merchants as well as food and beverage vendors.
