Carlyle is a unique mixed-use community in Alexandria, accommodating a dense assortment of uses including high-rise residential complexes, large floor-plate office buildings, a luxury hotel, and retail establishments. Just west of Old Town, the neighborhood includes a variety of natural and urban open spaces and parks.

Workers, residents and visitors to Carlyle are fortunate the Carlyle Council offers services to make getting to your destination easier. The Carlyle Community Council (CCC) in partnership with the City’s Local Motion office can ease your commuter experience with its Transportation Management Program (TMP) to promote the use of transit, bicycling and walking in Carlyle.

The City of Alexandria Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities will offer its Power-On Summer Camp Program for elementary-aged youth entering 1st – 6th grade in Fall 2024. One location will serve Power-Up program participants entering 6th – 10th grade in Fall 2024. Summer Camp will begin Monday, June 17, and end Friday, August 9, 2024.

In the 275th Anniversary year of the founding of Alexandria, the 2024 parade theme is George Washington: Alexandria’s Original Living Legend.The 2024 Parade Grand Marshals will be the Living Legends of Alexandria, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and chronicling individuals who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Alexandria, Virginia.
The Chamber ALX is hosting CareerCon on Friday, February 16, 2024 for high school and undergraduate students. Participants will be eligible to win a $4000 scholarship! Whether you are about to graduate from high school or already pursuing higher education, this program is for you! Returning in 2024 after a brilliant inaugural event, we are excited to connect Alexandria’s students, in both high school and college, with professionals working in industries of interest. Students will learn about the state of their future industries as well as essential curriculum skills for adult life.
